In 44 years the Eugues board approved 4,725 cases and 2,834 were carried out. In Alberta 200-400 women were sterilized and most documents were destroyed. These women were stripped of there children and beliefs as many of them were against even birth control. By the time sterilization was considerd Genocide almost 74% of Aboriginal peoples were already sterilized and there is no going back even after the government appoligized in 2017. This artwork shows hands coming out and grabbing the women and it shows her with her baby in the background and how it could of been if she was not stripped of her rights.
